Lee Gates (George Clooney), a TV star and an expert on Wall Street, and the TV show's producers Nancy Fenn (Julia Roberts) suddenly taken hostage while carrying out a live broadcast, by Kyle Budwell (Jack O'Connell), a young man who the losers after trying follow one of the suggestions that Gates was less precise.
